Yep, I met them! I guess I cheated a little and made it sound like one person, but I met Patrick Henry Hughes and his dad, Patrick John Hughes. If this is the first you've heard of them, by all means you got to learn more about them. I have blogged about them many times before here, here, and here. Or you can visit Patrick's own website here. I promise you won't be sorry that you took the time to read about them. Their story will bless you. I wish I had a picture of me with them, but Ryan was off playing football with the boys. So it was just me. Patrick Henry is so polite and well spoken. I wish I could have talked with him longer, but there were a few other people waiting to meet him, too, and he was getting ready to perform at our Waterfront Independence Festival. When I walked up, our conversation went a little like this:
Me: Hi Patrick! How are you today?
PHH: (in his thick southern accent) Well I'm fine, thank you. What is your name?
Me: My name is, Shannon.
(He extends his hand so that we can shake.)
PHH: I am very pleased to meet you, Shannon.
Me: It is very nice to meet you. Do you mind if I get a picture of you two?
PHH: Sure you can.
(He then put on his picture perfect smile as I snapped the above image.)
Apparently, Preston wasn't so pleased! (lol, just kidding, I think it was because it was so loud!)We also got to see Candy Coburn and Gary Allan in concert, and of course the night ended with fireworks! These are the other pictures from that day:

I've got a headache, so just a quick reply. Thank you so much for writing on my blog. Yes, it's so sad that our babies are growing up so fast. Preston is becoming such an adorable little boy every day more adorable than the last! I'll have to come back to listen to your video!

Yep, I guessed it. How exciting. I don't usually get excited about meeting celebrities but I got to meet Chris Burke last year it is now one of my favorite memories.
