The meeting was today, and unlike a lot of parents, I don't really stress over it too much. I am sure it has to do with the fact that we all pretty much agree on Gabi's plan. I couldn't believe it when we left. I looked at the clock, and three hours had gone by. Wow! That was longest meeting yet.
I won't get into all the details because I am sure it would bore everyone else to pieces, but I will say that I learned something about Gabi today. I never knew she had sensory issues. We are going to try her with a weighted vest and a weighted blanket.
I was excited to hear that Ms. Elise is going to be Gabi's teacher until she completes elementary school unless she progresses enough to go into a regular or typical classroom setting. So, I am happy that Ms. Elise will be with her and that if she isn't, it is because Gabi was doing so well. I don't know why I thought she was only with her until the end of this school year. That is one less thing for me to worry about.
And Gabi made a huge, HUGE mess today. I am not going to give details about it since I took pictures of "the mess" and you will get to see it 1st hand next Wednesday for Wordless Wednesday. But Ms. Elise will probably know what it was once she sees Gabi in school tomorrow. (shhhhh... it's our secret though.)

I'm glad the meeting went well. I can't wait for Wednesday now!
I would not mind hearing more about the iep in fact I be curious
My nephew is mildly autistic with sensory issues. He has had a weighted jacket for about a year now and my sister says it is amazing the difference it makes.
It must be a hue relief to know that she will be able to stay with the same teacher.
Poor Mommy!!
Miss Elise
That is great you all agree and it is not stressful..it makes it so much easier for you and the school when you have a good relationship.
Ok this just answered my question in my last response! I am so glad things are going well. What signs was she showing of sensory issues?
