Did you all watch??

I've gotten quite a few responses already regarding last night's Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It was awesome, wasn't it? And even more awesome than the house, was the family! All I have to say is that I want a photo room, too!

One of my patients this weekend said she had drove by the house to see it and it looks really out of place. I would imagine that is pretty true of any house they do on the show. I haven't drove by it yet.

If you missed it, you can still watch it online here. (It takes a moment to load and then, you have to wait for the commercial to finish before it shows, and then click "click to continue" once the commercial is over.) The bridge over the Ohio River at the beginning of the show is what connects the city I live in to Louisville, Kentucky. So those of you who were confused when they seen it was Kentucky and know I live in Indiana, that is why. I am just over the bridge.

Bina asked about the song that Patrick sang at the end of the show and it was titled Believe. (If you click on the link make sure your speakers are turned up.) It's a beautiful song and Patrick had a beautiful tone to his voice when he sang it. It was quite touching. Of course the link is to the Brooks and Dunn version, not Patrick's.

So, if you got a chance to see it or watch it online... tell me... what are your thoughts?

I am doing my own extreme makeover at my house. :) Would you like to come over and help me clean up?

I saw it!!! Reminded me of all my brother loves to do and that people help him with! That was really a touching story!

I watched it! And when it started I told me husband "I read someone's blog and she lives near these people". Hubby asked who and I couldn't remember which blog it was! So, now I can tell him it was you!
We loved the show! And both of us were a little teary eyed at the end during the song(which is one of my favorites!). But the absolute best part was when Patrick saw his room and my husband turned to me and said, "That is what I want for our boys.....a chance to be who they are and not be held back....and a chance to be independant, even if we have to build an addition on the house!"

I know I've already commented, but still, I can't believe how awsome that show and the family, and especially Patrick, are. He is an inspiration!

Remember I told you about my sister Brenda, who has severe Down's Syndome? The home she has lived in since 1980, Boyd's Home, in Kinsman Ohio, the lady who founded the home passed away at the age of 91 at the end of January. She was such an amazing woman. I've been to the home and it's wonderful! All the kids there called her mom and she did so much for them, and although her legacy is passed on, she will be so very missed.

Wow. My mom just told me that my sister Brenda has been in that home for 30 years! I think she just turned 49 or 50.

I remember my mother telling me that Brenda was born, the doctor's told her she would never walk, never talk, and wouldn't live to be 20.

We saw it! It was so nice to see familiar things again! We were looking at all of the familiar land marks. I worked downtown at the AEGON building for a couple of years and I also worked for Humana. So cool to see the place we called home for so many years...well...sort of home. We lived in Indiana too. It's always hard to explain that to strangers. You live in Indiana and work in KY? Yep...
